Great Guide To Learn Switch Mode Power Supplys

Learn to fix your own or make money repairing other peoples electronics.

Do you like electronic things or are you a hobbyist such as ham radio operator or do you like to build electronic projects? I recently found a fellow that is creating some really good guides to repair some of the new technology we have.

The one I got is called ‘Troubleshooting and repairing switch mode power supplies’. I have never seen a more complete guide or training manual. He has pictures of the circuit boards and components explaining how it works and what to look for in different problems. He goes into great detail on each type of failure and tells you how to test and fix it in excellent detail. There is a lot of information on different test equipment also in this 271 page guide.

I guess as an electronic hobbyist myself I can only say see for your self. Look around your house or office and you will find many of these switching power supplies. The new flat screen LCD monitors use them and your cell phone charger is probably one of them. The old technology is going by the wayside.

Working With Photos and Graphics

If you are building websites and doing advertising you will need software to work with your photos and graphics. The best is Adobe Photo Shop but it is very expensive.

Wow, How Do I Write My Thoughts

Here I am sitting at my desk and pondering what to write about. I have never been good at writing but have made a real effort to do so, how can I keep a blog up if I don’t write?

Now I don’t have just one blog, I have several. I am doing different things with each one. One is pretty political, a couple are health oriented, this one is more business and hopefully will generate some income to help us old folks out in our low income retirement.

I have made a few posts on this site about this theme and about blogging so I want to go into more detail. I am constantly looking for different themes for different sites and am not afraid to change the theme. Sometimes it kind of messes up the site a little till I get the widgets all into the right place. Most of the time it is no problem at all, just find the theme you want an activate it.

It gets more complicated to change themes when you have more than one sidebar and other ad spaces or widget spaces. They don’t always automatically go where you want them but it usually is pretty easy to get them placed right after installing a new theme.

I will probably leave this theme on this site because I really like the theme and am building the site around the theme. The theme is Heatmap and has many nice features.

I want to help others get started online and with the experience gained over the last several years of working on the web full time I can help new comers to the web a lot.

WordPress Plugins

There is a myriad of plugins for wordpress for many different purposes. As time goes on I will be sharing about different plugins and what benefit they are. Just let me tell you this, that without them it would be hard to use WordPress.

Plug-ins make WordPress automatic in many ways. Things like the share/save button at the bottom of each of my posts is done with a plugin. The clickbank ads below my posts are done with a plugin.

I found another site with links to a bunch of plugins for sharing your site and posts at Here. I have tried a couple of these plugins so far but not found one I like too well.

HeatMap Theme

The new theme I am using on this blog is called HeatMap. It is specially designed for flexibility and has many widgets to put affiliate advertising and other things you might want. At this date 4-3-10 I am using only three of the widget areas but will incorporate more as I work with it.

Check out the drop down menu system with sub-categories, this one will be on a sub-category of the wordpress category. I will also be building sub-pages to expand the versatility of the blog.
